MONITORING - DIGITAL COMMUNICATORS - A DIGITAL COMMUNICATOR IS PREFERABLE TO AN AUDIBLE ALARM

DIGITAL COMMUNICATOR

Get the message across!

For a small annual charge, most alarm systems can have a means of calling the police automatically using a DIGITAL COMMUNICATOR. Check with us to see if your system is compatible.

The digital communicator is an add-on gadget that connects to your phone line, and sends alarm messages to an Alarm Receiving Centre, or ARC as it is known. A digital communicator is not a device reserved for businesses. Anyone can have a digital communicator, and should, as a minimum to give at least basic protection!

The ARC will process the information that it receives from the digital communicator, and do the appropriate action, according to your wishes, and to a set of rules which are dictated by the British Standard.

Provided that your alarm control panel is able to give out the requisite signals, a digital communicator can be added quite simply.  Any telephone line can be used, and any service provider too.

To increase the security level, you may also like to subscribe to 'BT Call Waiting' which allows the digital communicator to send it's messages even when the phone is being used for another call, or if the phone is off the hook.

A further increase in security will entail having a separate line, with incoming calls barred. In practice, though, it is very rare that you hear of burglars keeping the phone ringing while they break in, so it is probably unnecessary to go to such lengths unless you are a higher security risk.

In any case, when your level of risk is greater, you should consider the more secure alternatives for remote signalling: RedCARE GSM and DualCom. Click on either to learn more.

For domestic and small business situations, a digital communicator is highly recommended

What do you get?

  1. Police response for intruder signals, subject to a check by the ARC to see if you have made a mistake. Your keyholders will be called first, unless a verified signal is received. Keyholders are always informed.
  2. Immediate police notification without any pre-checks if you push a panic button.
  3. Low battery or mains failure report to keyholders if your electricity supply fails when you're not there. Think how useful that feature can be!
  4. Fire alarm signals can also be passed to the fire brigade, or keyholders.
  5. We do two maintenance visits in the year when your system is monitored. No extra charge for the second visit.
